Benmore station is situated in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand.  For over 150 years merino sheep have grazed the station, a tradition, and business that continues today.

Benmore station is a leading supplier of fine-wool genetics to South Island farmers.  We incorporate the traditions of visual appraisal with leading science to breed sheep that are well suited to New Zealand sheep farming.

Benmore station runs large commercial flocks of Merino ewes, Romney-Merino halfbred ewes as well as our ram breeding enterprises. We have seen first hand the impact of introducing more productive genetics into our operation.

The sheep we are now breeding thrive on both our hill-country and under our intensive irrigated system.  Over the years we have adjusted our breeding direction to focus on true dual-purpose attributes.  We are now seeing the benefits of having three fantastic revenue streams in wool, lamb and surplus sheep sales.

We invite you to inspect our sheep at any time by appointment.

"... we work hard to ensure a balance of respecting the time honoured traditions of farming this country... while innovating at every opportunity to make sure  every year we do it better than the last one"
